Safety

From Basic Awareness to Competent Person, Associated Builders and Contractors provides world-class safety programs that dramatically improve safety performance among participants regardless of company size or scope of work. ABC Rocky Mountain Chapter is always expanding our offerings and partners to ensure our members have the resources needed  Let us know about your safety needs and we can probably build a program around it.  We can also make sure you are included in our Safety Forum Calls.

​The name says it all. ​ABC Rocky Mountain's Construction Core Competency safety training is a program designed to cover all of the basic safety training needs for commercial construction companies. ​C3 training consists of four levels and can be taken separately or consecutively. 
​Level 1
Equipment & Awareness Basics
​
Day 1:
Fall Protection Awareness
Ladder Safety Awareness

Aerial Lift Qualified Operator
Scissor Lift Certified Operator
Silica/Lead/Asbestos Awareness
Day 2:
Trenching and Excavation Awareness
Mini Excavator Qualified Operator
Powder Actuated Gun Trained
All-Terrain Forklift Certified Operator
Lockout/Tagout Awareness
Level 2
CPR/First Aid/AED ​
​Teaches critical skills to respond to and manage first aid, choking and sudden cardiac arrest before EMS arrives.

OSHA 10 Hour
​One day class designed for all employees involved in construction work including job foremen, superintendents, engineers and any personnel involved in projects.


Level 3
​OSHA 30 Hour

Four-day class that meets once a week. Teaches health and safety awareness by helping supervisors and workers reduce the risk of workplace hazards. Additional benefits of OSHA 30-Hour Training include prevention of possible worksite hazards, understanding workers’ rights, employer responsibilities and more.

Competent Person Training
Day 1:

OTHER SAFETY COURSES AND RESOURCES

Qualified Rigger & Signal Person
This is a single day course. Hands-on training available for an additional cost. Classes are added as needed and requested.
NFPA 70E Electrical Standard
This is a single day course that covers updates to the standards for electrical safety in the workplace. Classes are added as needed and requested.
United Academy
United Academy is our way to bring more training regionally and diversely. We can add classes throughout the Front Range, provide Online options, offer classes in Spanish, an more. Letting us know about your need is the first step to getting a class started.

Strengthening Company Safety Programs with STEP
ABC's Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) Awards program was designed to help contractors establish an organized approach for developing a company's safety and loss-prevention program. STEP includes objective methods to measure safety program improvements. In addition to fostering a safer work environment, ABC's STEP recognition can be used as an important business development tool.

ABC Rocky Mountain Chapter, in partnership with the American Safety Council, offers OSHA authorized outreach training 100% on-line. ABC Rocky Mountain Chapter members can order OSHA authorized and OSHA related training courses.

​Safety Forum Meetings
All Safety Forums are free to attend. They are for the purpose of bringing construction professionals together to discuss pertinent safety issues and best practices. All members are welcome - you do not need to be a safety professional to attend. Safety Forums are offered currently in the Denver and Northern Colorado Regions, with different topics and speakers each month. Register and check course dates and locations online on our calendar.
