Denver, CO – On June 26th, 2018, Walker Stapleton won the Republican party’s nomination for Colorado governor. He received the majority of the vote in the race against fellow Republican Candidates Victor Mitchell, Greg Lopez, and Doug Robinson. This November, Stapleton will face off against Democrat Jared Polis in his bid to win back the Gubernatorial Office, which has been held by Democrats for over a decade.
In his acceptance speech, Stapleton touched on his vision for the energy industry, health care solutions, tax policies, and education. As governor, he will “champion polices that create jobs instead of pursuing an agenda of burdensome regulations that hinder job creation,” said Robert Marceau, RK Mechanical and 2018 ABCRMC Chairman of the Board. In February, ABC Rocky Mountain Chapter became the first major business association to endorse a candidate in the 2018 Colorado Governor’s race. The chapter has actively promoted Stapleton’s campaign over recent months, hosting events and educating members about how Stapleton’s pro-business agenda will positively impact their businesses and the construction industry as a whole.
