Denver, CO – Over 300 members and guests of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) attended the 2017 Economic Forecast at the Westin Denver Downtown on Tuesday, April 18, 2017. Breakfast was served in the Westin’s Confluence Ballroom prior to the presentation, in which Anirban Basu, ABC’s Chief Economist, spoke about his predictions regarding the economic state of the construction industry for the upcoming year. Jason Maxwell, White Construction Group, ABC Chairman of the Board; Brett Denison, ABC Director of Member Services; and Dennis Walker, United Rentals, ABC member, introduced the event and welcomed Anirban Basu to the stage.
Anirban stated that despite weak global economic circumstances, the United States construction economy will remain stable through the remainder of 2017. Tax cuts, or anticipated tax cuts, should aid our national economy for the near future, though there is a potential for long term negative impacts. Unpredictable upcoming administrative changes will likely lead to challenges following this year. The event was sponsored by the following companies: Presenting Sponsor
