Denver – Members of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Rocky Mountain Chapter, received recognition from their peers within the commercial construction industry at the annual Associated Builders and Contractors Safety and Scholarship Awards Banquet held at the Embassy Suites Downtown Denver.
The Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) awards are granted by ABC National based on submitted applications. The awards are given in five categories; bronze, silver, gold, platinum and diamond. The awards are based on 20 key elements of a contractor’s safety program that includes safety policies, employee commitment and training, management commitment and budgeting. The STEP program is an effective tool for newly formed companies as well. Receiving the highest award of the elite Diamond STEP level were Heating & Plumbing Engineers of Denver, Interstate Electrical Contractors of Wheat Ridge, LPR Construction Co. of Loveland, Milender White Construction Co. of Arvada, and TIC - The Industrial Company of Englewood. Platinum level winners included ADK Electric Corp, Englewood; Bergelectric Corporation, Littleton; dcb Construction Company, Inc., Denver; Design Mechanical, Louisville; Encore Electric, Englewood; FCI Constructors, Inc., Frederick; HITT Contracting, Golden; Interstates Companies, Ft. Collins; Kenny Electric, Denver; Mays Concrete, Grand Junction; MTech Mechanical, Denver; National Coatings, Inc., Denver; RK Mechanical, Inc., Denver; Roche Constructors, Inc., Greeley; Shaw Construction, Denver and Spacecon Specialty Contractors, Colorado Springs.
