Suicide is personal, but it is also a public health issue that affects workplaces, communities and families.
Construction workers face one of the highest rates of suicide of any industry, with CDC data showing male construction workers die by suicide at a rate roughly four times the national average. This crisis is driven by work-related stress, physical strain, chronic pain and a culture that discourages asking for help, and social isolation due to frequent travel.
By improving an employee’s understanding of mental health and suicide prevention, they can be a key partner in the effort to prevent suicides by recognizing and connecting with individuals at risks for and displaying suicide warning signs.
ABC Rocky Mountain invites you to attend one of three Vital Cog Mental Health and Suicide Prevention seminars being presented by Joe Xavier, Senior Director of Health and Safety, ABC National, at ABC Member, Kenny Electric’s office.
These sessions provide an avenue for open conversation regarding suicide and mental health in the workplace while delivering important information about identifying risk factors for suicide and other mental health struggles and guidance on prevention. These sessions are critical for any member of an organization.
