EMPLOYER RESOURCES

Getting Your Employees Involved

ABC is the “voice of the merit shop” for the construction industry and we continue to lead the fight of protecting merit shop and the free enterprise. But the association can’t defend our members from big labor’s radical anti-business agenda without the direct involvement of our member companies – and their employees.

ABC believes that involving and mobilizing both business leaders and their employees is crucial to influencing elections and ensuring that pro-merit shop candidates are elected. Employers must also engage their employees in the process of ensuring that the anti-business ballot measures are defeated and that pro-worker freedom issues such as Amendments 47, 49 and 54 are passed.

Why don’t more companies involve their employees in the process?

Many employers don’t understand that employees actually look to them for their opinion on how elections affect them. Based on the exit-polling from the 2006 elections, nearly 80% of voting employees wanted their employer to provide them with information about candidates, issues, and elections.

Most workers realize that their employer can be a huge help in notifying and educating them about the impact of new laws and regulations as they not only affect the company they work for but how they impact their personal lives as well.Help your employees make informed and educated decisions about the candidates and issues they are voting on.

Legally Approved Resources for Employers

Our goal is to provide employers the tools to legally communicate information to their employees about candidates, legislative issues and elections that will impact their company most.
