As we look forward to Election Day, November 4, 2008, the business community must step up its efforts in order to offset well-financed groups from big labor to trial lawyers that will raise hundreds of millions of dollars to support anti-business candidates and ballot initiatives. ABC is working along with other businesses and like-minded groups to elect strong pro-business and pro-merit shop candidates to Congress.
“Get Into Politics or Get Out of Business” is ABC’s political motto. Politics today has special interests that want you to change the way you run your business. Some won’t quit until you are out of business.
ABC Members must get involved this election cycle by taking a stance on issues and supporting pro-merit shop candidates.
Issues
ABC provides members with the knowledge and representation needed to protect your company from unfair and anti-competitive political tactics. ABC's merit shop philosophy and political agenda ranks among the main reasons why companies join and remain in ABC.
Candidates
ABC is working to elect strong pro-merit shop and pro-business candidates to office at both the state and federal level. ABC’s board of directors officially endorses candidates based on analyses of their voting records, positions on our issues and recommendations by the chapter’s lobbying team.
How to Make a Difference
The purpose of ABC's various political committees is to further the goals of the association by working within the election process to support and/or oppose candidates for elected office. ABC's PAC is your voice in elective politics. Members' political donations are combined with others to jointly support candidates.
